In a planned move to consolidate the elusive tribal segment - and hopefully checkmate the pro-CPM Adivasi Kshema Samithy (AKS) in its own strong hold - over 2,000 landless tribals, led by their firebrand leaders C K Janu and M Geethanandan, are now busy clearing a 160-hectre core area of Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary at Muthanga, Kerala, aiming to erect permanent huts there. The Adivasis, hailing from different parts of the district, launched the land encroachment stir on Saturday night by clearing chunks of forest land spread in Kadikkakuni, Sarakkad, Thakarapady, Ambukuthy, Vengoor, Moroor and Kottikappu portions of Muthanga Range.
