Japan fell from the top position in the world as a solar battery producer in 2007, replaced by Europe, a survey by a U.S. industry journal said Saturday. Japan's annual production of solar cells came to 920,000 kilowatts last year, down 11.3% from the previous year, while that of Europe rose 43.9% to 1.06 million kilowatts, according to the journal.
