Tokyo Electric Power Co. is to participate in a large scale forestation project in New South Wales, Australia, according to company officials. The power utility, which accounts for some 7-8% of all carbon-dioxide emissions in Japan, intends to factor into calculations of its greenhouse-gas emissions the volume of carbon dioxide absorbed by the planted trees.
