After nearly a year, the Tamil Nadu Government has finally cleared the way for a Rs. 25-lakh Japanese Government project in Kannagi Nagar, the Slum Clearance Board settlement in Oggiyam Thoraipakkam. The grant was sanctioned to an NGO early this year for operating four day care centres, a park and a playground in the township.
