Nagaland's rich agro-biodiversity is under threat. Trees are being felled randomly, forests are being burnt down and timber extraction continues unabated. The problem has assumed serious proportions due to the age-old practice of "slash and burn method of cultivation", popularly known as jhum cultivation.
