Job fairs for rural youths

A serialised initiative has been undertaken by District Poverty Initiative Programme (DPIP) for making employment available to rural youths. Under this scheme, serialised Job Fairs are being organised in the districts covered under DPIP. Large number of rural youths have secured employment through these Job Fairs. The Job Fairs organised in DPIP jurisdiction districts Rewa, Chhatarpur and Raisen were attended by lakhs of jobless rural youths. In the same series, Job Fairs are also going to be organised in Shajapur, Sidhi, Sagar and Tikamgarh districts. Under special effort, a recruitment rally was organised at Rewa with the cooperation of Air Force where 187 youths were selected. Novel schemes have been launched in Rewa district with a view to providing employment to landless rural youths. Recently, a Job Fair was organised in Rewa where five thousand 713 unemployed youths were registered. Out of these, two thousand 425 youths were selected for various jobs. A recruitment rally was also organised there under the joint aegis of district administration, Air Force and DPIP where 187 youths were selected for the post of Airman. District administration and Air Force Wing Commander Ashutosh Chaturvedi played an important role in organising this recruitment rally. An Air Force recruitment rally is also going to be organised in Sagar for which all the necessary arrangements have been completed. More than 15 thousand youths are likely to take part in this rally. DPIP has also provided jobs to youths in the health sector by imparting them training as caretakers. This has been possible due to active support of Indian Red Cross Society. At the Job Fair held at Chhatarpur, more than three thousand youths got placements of their choice. Representatives of over one dozen companies were present at the Job Fair. Ten officers were deputed at the Job Fair for counselling and guidance and 20 employees for registration at different counters. As many as five thousand 984 youths were registered and placements were given to three thousand 719 youths as per specifications laid down by the companies. At the Job Fair in Raisen district 739 youths were registered out of which 273 were given placements. DPIP is going to organise a Job Fair in Sagar district on June 7, with the co-operation of SEDMAP and District Employment Office. Placements would be given to about 700 jobless youths at this Job Fair. It may be mentioned that a new initiative has been undertaken by District Poverty Initiative Programme to provide employment to semi-educated youths belonging to landless rural families. In this connection help of various public and private companies has been sought. Large number of trained workers are required by the existing and under construction industries in the state. MoUs have been signed with such companies. Relentless efforts are being undertaken in the districts in this connection and candidates are being selected after conducting interviews.
