A federal judge has suspended Yellowstone National Park's unique contract with researchers who want to use microbes from the park's hot springs for commercial purposes. U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth in the District ordered the National Park Service to first conduct an environmental study of the potential impact on the nation's oldest national park. Park Service spokesman David Burns said last week that the agency will not appeal the decision.
