Judicial activism pays dividents in Goa

With successive governments in Goa failing to take decisions on crucial administrative matters, the state judiciary has taken on a proactive role to intervene in issues ranging from ecological destruction to land frauds, from corruption to helping tackle Goa's malaria crisis. In many instances, the Goa bench of the Mumbai High Court - this state does not have a high court - itself took action based on reports appearing in the local media.
