A writ petition seeking allocation of K-G Basin gas to private power plants in the State was adjourned to June 10 by Justice Ramesh Ranganathan of the A.P. High Court on Thursday.
The petition, filed by private power plants, contended that the policy of the Central Government allocating gas explored by Reliance in K-G basin to the fertilizer industry on priority basis was discriminatory.
The Centre, through the Additional Solicitor-General, said that the allegation of discrimination based on regions was not correct. He said that the decision of the Group of Ministers allocating gas on priority basis was based on reduced output in the K-G B-6 block. The will be heard after the summer vacation.
