Karnataka lax in executing schemes

The Union Minister for Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation, Ananth Kumar, has criticised the Krishna Government for "laxity" in implementing the Centrally sponsored schemes, especially the Sectoral Reforms Project on drinking water supply in rural areas and the Nirmal Abhiyaan on sanitation.The minister told presspersons on Sunday that Bellary, Mysore, and Dakshina Kannada werechosen for the implementation of theproject in the State on a pilot basis.Of the project cost of Rs. 40 crore in each district, the Centre's share was 90 per cent.
