Kerala freshwater fish under threat

Indiscriminate dynamiting of rivers and other water bodies in Kerala is posing a grave threat to the life of swarms of freshwater fish which are fast depleting in strength and intensity, according to experts. This was revealed in a paper presented at a workshop on conservation and management of fish resources jointly organised in Thiruvanthapuram by the Kerala State Co-operative Federation for Fisheries Development and the State Fisheries Department.
