Kerala planters seek changes in forest Bill

The Association of Planters of Kerala (APK) has urged the State Government to make certain amendments to the proposed bill to give effect to the Kerala Forests (Vesting and Management of Ecologically-Fragile Lands) Ordinance in the interest of the State's economy. Under he ordinance, all ecologically-fragile lands were to vest with the Government and such ecologically fragile lands were to include lands recorded as forests in Government records.
