Kolar CMC passes action plan for Rs 551.63 lakh

DH News Service, Kolar: An action plan to identify and implement various projects for an amount of Rs 551.63 lakh, released under the SFC scheme, was passed unanimously by the members of the Kolar City Municipal Council, at a special meeting organised here on Tuesday. The action plan was created, at the special meeting, which was presided by CMC President Nazeer Ahmad. On the occasion, CMC member S R Muraligowda urged the meeting to earmark an amount of Rs 35 lakh separately for the CMC staff members and the pourakarmikas towards their salaries. This amount, he said, the CMC authorities should adjust with the other grants which will be sanctioned to the CMC, he added. The meeting agreed to this suggestion. Room for consent CMC member Muraligowda suggested that a separate room should be provided for the CMC members to sit, to which all the members expressed their consent. The members also further urged the meeting that a separate room for the women members and another one for the male employees, apart from a rest room, a canteen and a toilet facility were also demanded. The CMC president agreed to these demands. World Bank project Out of the total Rs 551.63 lakh amount sanctioned under the SFC scheme, an amount of Rs 155.45 lakh has been earmarked for the KMRP scheme under the World Bank project, an amount of Rs 100 lakh for the drinking water scheme, Rs 120.36 lakh for the construction of road and drainage system, Rs 49.65 lakh to provide facilities under the 18 per cent scheme, an amount of Rs 50 lakh for the purchase of electric lights, Rs 41.117 lakh for the construction of mini market and an amount of Rs 35 lakh for the salary of the CMC staff members and the pourakarmikas, has been earmarked. The CMC members suggested to make adjustments to the said amount of Rs 35 lakh, which will be distributed as salary among the CMC staff members and pourakarmikas, with the other salary grants of the CMC. A development action plan of Rs 58 lakh, under the 12th financial plan for the year 2007-08 and 08-09, was prepared at the meeting and a proposal was sent to the Government for its approval. Under this proposal, various developmental works in all the wards in the City had also been suggested.
