The Karnataka Government is planning to extend further concessions and tax incentives to boost private sector participation in water supply and sanitation projects. The planned concessions are similar to those being currently availed by the power sector. A confidential note circulated to water boards of various major cities said the government was condsidering giving depreciation allowance on capital investment made on water supply, sewerage and solid waste management schemes taken up by the private sector.
