NEW DELHI: Delhi Nationalist Congress Party president and Badarpur MLA Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Tuesday met Lieutenant-Governor Tejendra Khanna and urged him to immediately order stopping of construction of the Jaitpur landfill site at Tajpur Pahari in his constituency as it poses a major environmental threat to the fragile ecology of the area. Mr. Bidhuri said he also informed Mr. Khanna that the land on which the sanitary landfill has been planned belongs to the Gram Sabha as also to some private individuals. He said neither had the Government so far acquired the land nor had it paid any compensation for it.
