Electricity loadshedding and deficient water supply made it difficult for the people in the city to spend the weekly holiday in hot weather. Staying indoors in the absence of power or going out in the blazing sun was like living in hell. The wind was too hot to be braved, making the city streets deserted for almost the entire day. However, locals visited parks and open places in the evening to have a relief. Youngsters found some respite by flocking to the city canal without caring how much its water was polluted. The Met office said maximum temperature recorded in the provincial metropolis was 44 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest city in the province on Sunday. Overall, Nawabshah was the hottest place with 47.5 degrees C. The Met office expected dust storm and light rain all over the province, the NWFP and the Northern Areas during the night. TWO DIE: Two people died in city on Sunday reportedly owing to dehydration and sun stroke. The Lower Mall police said body of an unidentified 65-year-old man was found near Gate No 3 of Data Ganj Bakhsh shrine. Locals informed the police which sent the body for an autopsy. In another incident, an unidentified 40-year-old man was found dead near Aysha Plaza in Township. According to the police, both the men had died due to sunstroke.
