The government has proposed to set up a Lake Development Authority funded by the Union Government for the regeneration and development of lakes in Bangalore. To meet the growing demand for water, the Cauvery Water Supply Scheme IV Stage Phase I, with financial assistance from the Japan Bank of International Cooperation, is under implementation. This will bring in an additional 270 MLD water to the city by June.
