They are part of the city, the innumerable lakes that dot Vadodara and its surrounding areas. Just as Vadodara is the city of gardens, it can also be called the city of lakes with more than nine lakes with in the city itself, and many more in the villages around it. However due to pathetic condition of the lakes which are either filled with garbage, sludge or have disappeared altogether, this year a few spells of heavy rains are likely to result in flooding of the city.
