Wanton destruction of trees in Laokhowa, an important wildlife sanctuary of NE region has been continuing unabated for the last several years under the last several years under the very nose of the state Government and the forest department. But the treasures of such virgin forests are being destroyed and exploited ruthlessly by some corrupt forest officials, inefficient administration and wood smugglers.
