Three years after it was first mooted, the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MEF) is to bring out a legislation banning of any industrial units consuming or producing ozone depleting substances (ODS). The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has already issued a notification asking commercial banks not to lend to such units.
