DH News Service, Mudigere: A leopard which fell trap into a noose die despite continued efforts to save it by the Officials of Forest Department. A noose was placed to trap wild animal in a coffee plantation at Kenjige in Mudigere coffee plantation but a leopard fell trap on Wednesday night. The owner of the plantation immediately called the forest officials and also brought the veterinary doctor from Shimoga. Though the department brought cage and net, the Leopard died by the time the cage and net reached the spot. DCF Lingaraju visited the spot and said that the death must have occurred due to injuries caused during the fierce struggle to get out of the noose all through the night, which must have caused injuries to the animal. He said that the issue will be looked into by the experts and based on the post mortem report actions will be taken.
