Delhi BJP chief Madan Lal Khurana today assured protesters demonstrating against the relocation of villages from the Tughlaqabad Fort area that the encroachments would not be demolished by the Centre. He also added that 50,000 houses would be regularised and basic amenities provided. When contacted, Khurana said that he would study their case and forward his views to the Centre. Representatives of 365 villages of Delhi today submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister A B Vajpayee and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, asking them to stop the displacement of the 50,000 families who are living in Tughlaqabad village.
