Linking the lost India

The Dichotomies that cut across India cannot be better explained than through the wide differences between rural and urban road linkages. If more than five decades after Independence, nearly 40 per cent of the villages in the country remain unconnected despite several plans, the emphasis that was placed on public works and the importance given to laying roads in the several rural development schemes, the failure is far too deep to ignore.
