People's participation has been increased greatly in forest conservation after the Nepal government adopted the policy of handing over forest to the community. Of the total 144,477 hectares of forest land in the district of Doti, Doti District Forest Office has distributed 20,136 hectares of forest to local users for their conservation and use as community forests.
