The decks have finally been cleared for the introduction of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) as a fuel for automobiles. The ministry of petroleum's notification amending the LPG (regulation of user in motor vehicles) order is expected to be issued within two weeks. Apart from the environmental advantages, the prime attraction of using LPG is expected to be the price. The running cost of LPG per km is about 75 per cent cheaper than petrol.
