With water level in Vaigai dwindling every passing day, Madurai city in Tamil Nadu and its peripheries are likely to face a major water crisis this summer. Though the district administration and Madurai Corporation have taken "advance action" to ease out the problem and forwarded proposals to the government, drought prone zones like Usilampatti, Sedapatti, Tirumangalam, Vadipatti in the district are already experiencing the thirst.
