Hyderabad, July 16: Hyderabad based Solar Semiconductor, a manufacturer of photovoltaic power generation units, has entered into a supply contract worth Rs 3,000 crore with AS Solar, a German firm. The contract value is $695 million and it will be executed over the next three years. At current rates, this could account for 160-170 mw of power generation units. "We currently have a fabrication capacity for 80 mw in Hyderabad and we are setting up another plant with a capacity for 40 mw," said Mr Ravi Surapaneni, vice president, Solar Semiconductor. "We hope to take up the manufacturing capacity to 210 mw by the end of this year. Our operations started last year and we expect a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore for the current fiscal," Mr Surapaneni added. Solar Semiconductor produces solar power modules. Solar Semiconductor started operations in September last year.
