The leasing of vast forests for eucalyptus plantations. The building of new roads in wildlife sanctuaries. The opening up of national parks to tourism. The coming of new mines in national forests. The Forestry Department is supposed to preserve our fast-dwindling forests. So why is it handing over our precious nature to industry without any concern for the ensuing environmental destruction? And let's not forget the latest logging scandals involving Kanchanaburi's Klity forest, Surat Thani's Tha Chana national park and the military's mysterious helipad in Thung Yai.
