The Matale anti malaria Regional Office has embarked on a malaria prevention programme in the area. Eight malaria patients have been treated recently at the Matale district hospital. An officer of the Matale anti malaria office said investigations have revealed that all eight patients are soldiers who had been serving in the north and had returned home. He said malaria is under control in the Matale district and necessary investigations are underway.
