Manchanabele villagers oppose pisciculture of poisonous fish

Villagers from Manchanabele and Harobande in Chikkaballapur taluk have alleged that the Fisheries Department officials permitted pisciculture of the cannibalistic and poisonous fish, African black cat, in the tanks near Harobande. They staged a protest demanding closure of fish farms with this particular variety of fish, in the region. They alleged that the fish farm is filled with polluted water. The youth said that some of the localites have carried out pisciculture of these fishes, despite the health department
