Offering all possible help to provide succour and relief to the flash flood-hit people of Gujarat, the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, today announced a Central assistance of Rs. 55 crores to the State from the National Calamity Contingency Fund. Dr. Singh has also sanctioned Rs. 50,000 each from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund to the next of kin of those killed in the recent floods in Gujarat.
