Mapping corridor for Dalma tusker safety

Delhi-based NGO will help in mapping corridor of migratory elephants of Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary. The NGO, which has expertise in drawing routes of elephants with meticulous details, including food habits, would work on the project from January when the migratory season comes to an end. Shidharth Tripathy, the Dalma divisional forest officer, said that the elephant population had to be conserved and the mapping of their migratory routes to Bankura and Purulia districts in Bengal via Ghatshila, and to Simlipal reserved forests in Orissa via Seraikela would help in the project. According to Tripathy, the sanctuary has a dense forest cover suitable for tuskers
