'It is cheaper to be green'was the refrain at the launch of Maruti CNG vehicles in New Delhi. Addressing a function organised at Pragati Maidan by the Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL) to mark the occasion, the Chief Minister, Ms. Sheila Dixit, and the Joint Managing Director of MUL, Mr. Jagdish Khattar, sought to drive home the point that use of "green" fuels make economic sense. Flagging off the 50 Maruti Omnis fitted with CNG kits, Ms. Dixit said these vehicles would not only help Delhiites in the battle against vehicular pollution, which alone accounts for 70 per cent of the air pollution, but also go a long way in making Delhi more safe and secure for generations to come.
