The eerie silence of the Forest Department of Bokajan, Assam, on the mssive felling of trees especially teak, raises many a eye brows. This came to the notice of a team of visiting journalists to the forest area nearby the Bokajan Forest Division office in Karbi Anglong district. The team of journalists observed that more than 100 valuable teak trees besides other trees were illegally-felled and taken away by timber smugglers under the the nose of the Forest officials in the division.
