Masterplan to make way, agrees Centre

The mounting pressure from virtually all political parties forced the Union Urban Development Ministry today to concede the Delhi government's plea to regularise industries in the non-conforming areas where their presence is 70 per cent and more. This will be done after a survey is conducted. This decision was taken at a high-level meeting between Union Urban Development Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Lieutenant-Governor B L Joshi, Industries Minister Mangat Ram Singhal and senior officials from the Delhi and Union governments.
