Using the power vested recently with it by the Union Urban Development Ministry, MCD's Standing Committee today passed a resolution to bring 229 roads within the ambit of mixed land use. The resolution, aimed at bringing relief to traders by circumventing the Supreme Court's order on sealing shops in residential areas, includes the 186 roads listed with the civic body for sealings. Mayor Satbir Singh, who called the special House meeting today, had yesterday appointed a six-member committee headed by Leader of the House Jitender Kochar to review the list of roads facing sealing threat.
