The factory licensing and food licenses for eating establishment departments of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi may go to the Delhi government, as proposed by the second Delhi finance commission. In its report tabled recently before the Delhi Assembly, the finance panel has suggested transfer of various MCD departments to the Delhi government for "better supervision, control and coordination as is the practice in other states and has also been recommended by the Supreme Court."
