In deference to the recent Delhi High Court directive, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi posted the list of 18,000-odd unauthorised and illegal constructions booked between 2001 and 2005 on its website. The civic body will also be writing to the power distribution companies and the Delhi Jal Board to withdraw power and water connections to these properties as directed by the court. The MCD will also intimate the registrar of assurances and the sub-registrars of all districts to place the list in the files of properties in question so that intending buyers or users or occupiers know their status. The zone-wise list of unauthorised constructions mentions only addresses of booked properties, the nature of unauthorised constructions but not the names of its owners. The list containing properties booked between January 1, 2001, and July 31, 2005, is available on the civic body's official website -- www.mcdonline.gov.in.
