In the inner roads of delhi, even a Delhiite, living in the city for years, is likely to flounder. An exact address in the city is hardly of any use in the absence of basic signages to guide one through the maze of streets. However, finding the way to an address, down to the smallest lane in the congestion of Delhi's colonies, may become a lot easier by as early as 2010. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi is going to introduce standardised signages in areas falling under it in a bid to make the Capital more navigable for citizens as well as the thousands of foreigners who will visit the city during the Commonwealth Games. A Rs 10-crore budget for the signages was sanctioned by the standing committee after the initial Rs 1 lakh allocation per ward was found to be insufficient for this work.
