The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has decided to draw up building bylaws for 25 out of the 180 urban villages in the Capital, a process that will look at how illegal constructions in these areas can be curbed. A meeting of Commissioner Rakesh Mehta and the task force drawing up the bylaws also decided that the urban renewal plans for these areas are to be formulated within the next six months. With the nature of these urban villages varying within the city, private concerns are being given the task of studying these areas and recommending feasible bylaws that can be implemented there.
