MCH drafts Rs 500-crore plan for slum-free city

In India, it is hard to visualise a city without slums, more so Hyderabad. But the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) has taken up the onerous task to free the city of slums. The corporation has begun the exercise in right earnest by according top priority to slum development. For this, a sum of Rs 500 crore has been earmarked.To achieve the goal, a comprehensive slum upgradation programme is on. It involves identification of resources, prioritising needs and implementation of the works with precise co-ordination.
