There are 7,000 species of plants in the forests in Lalitpur district of Nepal which covers 40 percent of the total area, according to forestry experts. Twenty seven percent of the total forest area consists of private forests and is taken care of by 124 community forest consumers committees operating here. This was informed at a 3-day workshop on the forest degradation and solution which kicked off in Lalitpur.
