The United Kingdom, claimed to be the world leader in stem cell research, has found the right partner in India citing the latter's well established education system, wide network of scientific laboratories and organisations and its pool of natural talent. Inaugurating an eight-day joint conference on stem cell research at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, in Bangalore, British High Commissioner in India Sir Michael Arthur said his country now recognised that it cannot achieve global policies without an Indian collaboration. ''There are very few countries about whom we say that,'' he added.
