In the present context of trade libralisation and globaliation and considering the diminishing role of the State in production and service activities, the role of civil society is gaining importance and relevance. Particularly, the non-Governmental organisations(NGOs), which in alleviating poverty and promoting sustainable and equitable development are gaining unprecedented importance qs they are in a position to provide services to communities that Governments do not or can not provide.
