The Unicef-WWF consultation on "Fresh water for India's Children and Nature" was held at New Delhi in January to discuss a synthesis report of five local level studies and initiate a dialogue for action with the participation of experts and practitioners from government organisations, universities, and multilateral aid agencies. Unicef's mandate to advocate for the protection of the rights of children and help meet their basic needs and WWF's mandate for the protection of nature and conservation of biodiversity converge in the conservation of fresh water eco-system.
