MEF nod to 5 mining projects

After a delay of over a year, the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MEF) has given its nod to five mining projects in Rajasthan involving diversion of a total of 1503.42 hectares of forest land. The largest of the projects is promoted by ACC Cement Works and involves diversion of over 1,348 hectares of forest land in Lakheri Chamauli mines in district Bundi of Rajasthan.The other projects involve diversion of less than 55 hectares of forest land and are comparatively smaller.
