Meghalaya Speaker E K Mawlong and two Cabinet ministers of the B B Lyngdoh government were heckled by an irate crowd at an election rally in Nongstoin in West Khasi Hills district when they failed to answer queries on the timber ban. The crowd did not even spare the sitting MLA, veteran Hills State People's Democratic Party (HSPDP) leader Hopingstone Lyngdoh, who was present at the meeting . "If you can't promise that you will remove the ban on timber trade, then get out," the crowd roared.
