NAAS: The methane emissions from rice fields in the country, often cited by western critics to be accelerating to global warming, in reality contributed an insignificant percentage, a national conference has said. Experimental data presented at the discussion on 'Climate Change and perspective for agriculture', organised by the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) showed that the country's methane emissions was hardly four to seven million tonnes.
