Work on the proposed Bangalore Metro Rail project will start early next year. It will be operational by 2008, said Bangalore Mass Rapid Transit Limited (BMRTL) managing director A.P. Joshi. Speaking at a seminar on Urban Transport Structures, organised jointly by the Bangalore Development Authority and the Indian National Group of International Association for Bridge and Structure Engineering, Joshi said the project would be fully over by 2009.
