While resenting the supply of subsidised power to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, the private power distribution companies have claimed down from their stand to provide electricity to the project on a no-profit basis. The companies' opposition to provide subsidised power to the Metro stemmed primarily from Delhi Metro's plans to retail power to private commercial ventures being set up at the Metro stations.
